Mon Laferte Vol. 1 is a studio album by Chilean-Mexican singer-songwriter Mon Laferte, commercially released on August 21, 2015, through Discos Valiente, a Universal Music México label. Inspired by the music she listened to with her grandmother as a child, it was recorded with help from friends and borrowed equipment under difficult financial conditions. Songs including “Tormento” and “Tu falta de querer” reflect the depression she experienced during its creation. Following independent launches in Chile and Mexico earlier in 2015, the album was remastered for its commercial release. A special edition adds “Bonita” and live recordings.
