HALSEY
Halsey is an American singer-songwriter known for her distinctive voice, confessional songwriting and constant artistic reinvention. She gained attention through self-released music on social media before signing with Astralwerks in 2014, and has since built one of the most devoted fanbases in alternative pop.
Her debut album Badlands (2015) — a concept album about a dystopian world as a metaphor for her mental state — debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 and was certified double platinum in the US. Hopeless Fountain Kingdom (2017), a Romeo and Juliet-inspired concept record with a more radio-friendly sound, debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, making her the first woman to achieve a number-one album in the US that year, with “Bad at Love” peaking at number five on the Hot 100. Manic (2020) became her best-selling album worldwide, anchored by “Without Me” — her first solo number-one on the Billboard Hot 100, certified 9× Platinum in the US. Her fourth album If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power (2021), produced by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross of Nine Inch Nails, marked a bold shift into darker industrial territory and received critical acclaim. Her fifth album The Great Impersonator (2024), released on Columbia Records, drew on her personal health battles and showcased her range across multiple decades of musical influence.
