BRITNEY SPEARS
Britney Spears is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, with over 150 million records sold worldwide. Known as the "Princess of Pop", she played a defining role in shaping the sound and visual language of pop music at the turn of the millennium and remains one of its most iconic figures.
Her debut album ...Baby One More Time (1999) became the best-selling debut album by any artist and the biggest-selling album ever by a teenage artist, built around a schoolgirl aesthetic and an irresistible pop-rock energy. Oops!... I Did It Again (2000) pushed further into polished, hook-driven pop and broke first-week sales records. Britney (2001) marked a deliberate artistic shift, drawing on hip-hop and funk influences and earning Grammy nominations for Best Pop Vocal Album. In the Zone (2003) was her most creatively ambitious record — she co-wrote and co-produced much of it, blending dance, R&B and electronic textures, and it yielded “Toxic”, which won the Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording. After a turbulent personal period, Blackout (2007) arrived as a critically acclaimed electronic pop statement, later named one of the best pop albums of the decade. Circus (2008) and Femme Fatale (2011) continued her run of number-one albums with high-energy, club-ready production. Glory (2016), her most mature and experimental record, was widely praised by critics as a creative high point of her later career.
